I am a local and I do not agree with fining traffic for using local roads. Cab drivers and tradesmen need to have access to side streets in order to service the problems of the people living there. This is an outrageous control of how people are supposed to live.
I believe that councils must be accountable to the people and not act as though they run a dictatorship How can anybody support the Ukrainians whilst it’s not guarding their own local democracies. The council is behaving in an anti-democratic manner, they must be held accountable for their actions
I live in Peterborough Estate. I have a child with long term illness and regularly had to use Uber/taxi’s to collect and return us to home. With these restrictions they will not come to our house. There will be similar severe disruption with deliveries which I rely on from to time to time when my child is unable to be left home alone.
The scheme appears completely illogical. No good clear maps have published but it looks as if if is not going to be easy for Ubers to pick us up as we will effectively be cut off from all out of borough traffic. It looks as if a wide road like Napier Ave which leads nowhere except to the Hurlingham club, Napier Court and Rivermead Court will be closer to traffic - while all traffic will be forced down a narrow road like Edenhurst.
I think these systems make the living environment worse and I dislike authoritarianism in our council.
I have a retail shop on Wandsworth bridge road and the traffic this will cause will be unbearable not to mention the pollution this will cause when traffic is at a standstill
These schemes are competently undemocratic and worsen pollution and congestion on alternate roads. They are essentially a money making scheme to catch unsuspecting motorists. This scheme must be put to a full democratic process. Unfortunately this is unlikely and the council will force this through regardless of local opinion
Its too oppressive and costly, especially in these mega inflation times
The congestion that has been caused by the scheme in Sands End East is the worst I have ever known it. Most of the time it is quicker to walk the length of Wandsworth Bridge Road as the traffic is gridlocked. For people who are unable this is scandalous. The existing scheme should be scrapped and any extension to Sands End West not even considered.
I feel that it will not resolve the traffic and pollution issue but just merely push it on to different areas. It would make going to see my parents who live in Fulham very hard especially as a mother of young children where sometimes travelling by car is the only option. I would be very concerned for local businesses and the residents of Wandsworth Bridge Road for example which will be inflicted to greater traffic and pollution.
The scheme is simply not working and it seems more people object to it than endorse it!
