The Council scraps Better Brackenbury LTN
How long now before the Council addresses our issues?
Closure of Wandsworth Bridge
44,000 vehicles per day cross this bridge and will be diverted elsewhere from Monday 24th July when the bridge closes for essential repairs. The work will take at least 10 weeks. There appears to be no sense of urgency about the serious impact that this will have on South West London
We need to know that the work will take place 24/7 to ensure the fastest possible solution using acknowledged industry experts
We need to be reassured that diverted traffic is not just limited to Battersea and Putney bridges, there should be adequate notice placed all around the M25.
We need to understand fully the steps taken to ensure that transport services are efficient. There should be a constant supply of shuttle buses at both ends of the bridge to transport pedestrians to local transport links. There should be small buggies or wheelchair services to ferry disabled people across the bridge
We need all cameras turned off in South Fulham to ensure that diverted traffic coming over Putney and Battersea bridges can move as freely as possible.

We are a legitimate, constituted, residents group established for the purpose of consulting with the Council. We are the largest residents group in Fulham, representing residents in more than 125 roads in the borough which we need to represent fairly.
Rather than get into detailed discussions on which street should have what protection, we plan to measure every intervention against several Key Success Factors which the committee think will be agreeable to all our members.
We believe that any intervention should:
Not push traffic, congestion, pollution or noise from one street to another
Not increase journey time anywhere in Fulham especially for public transport, taxis, all mini-cabs and emergency services
Not add inconvenience for residents or businesses in or around Fulham, including friends, families and customers in neighbouring boroughs
The Council do not engage properly and effectively with individuals. It is important that you are able to feedback effectively to the council during these trials begin.
We will give you a voice.

There is not one single right hand turn from New Kings Road to reach the Green Zone, Sands End East or Wandsworth Bridge without a visitors permit. LBHF are directing traffic away from Wandsworth Bridge to Putney bridge rewriting traffic patterns south of the river.
The Council plans to literally crush traffic out of South Fulham and we are already seeing displacement along Trinity Road Wandsworth, Wandsworth Bridge roundabout and on the bridge itself, New Kings Road, Parsons Green, Fulham Road Fulham Palace Road, Fulham Broadway and Harwood Road.
The zone is not providing cleaner air. You can monitor PM 2.5 and Nitrogen Dioxide readings across Fulham on a daily basis.

At Cabinet 10th October 2022 councillors approved rolling out camera LTNs across the whole borough by 2024
The Sands End Camera scheme displaced traffic to the west side of Wandsworth Bridge Road. Now that the west scheme has been introduced traffic will be further displaced necessitating the need for more camera LTNs.
Hammersmith Bridge is closed. The traffic has nowhere to go.

The cameras operate 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, every day of the year. There is no respite even on Christmas day.
We must fight this!
